calendaRio for September 2009

It seems like all I do on this blog is publish calendaRios. The truth is that I have neglected this blog in favor of more pressing issues, which is a shame because maintaining this blog is something that I really enjoy. I look forward to publishing calendaRios and I look forward to sharing photos and anecdotes.

August has been a crazy month. So much has happened and I feel like I was caught up in the middle of it all. I love being busy and so this month has been very rewarding. I spent almost a week on a kayak in the middle of the ocean. I went diving in a place that I have been wanting to dive since last summer. Evaristo and I had our second anniversary. I visited my oldest friend in the world for her birthday. I officially finished classes, along with my first year at CICESE. My team lost an intramural basketball tournament, which still hurts to think about. And Evaristo graduated! I'll be writing about all of that shortly. So some interesting posts coming up.

For the time being, I present the calendaRio for September, 2009. I took Rio down to the beach today to look for some equipment that I lost and while we were climbing over rocks, I snapped a picture of Rio on my cell phone. The image was not that great and the lighting was pretty bad, but I liked Rio's outline. It's a pretty unmistakable silhouette and I thought that it would look good as a retro-style wallpaper. I got the idea for the wallpaper from this adobe tutorial and I think that it came out alright in the end. Hope you like it.

calendaRio for August 2009

I recently finished my last trimester of classes. It seems like I just started yesterday but despite my protests, I am officially done with credits. The expression that time flies has never before been so true. These past few years have come and gone so fast that I have trouble distinguishing between them. Rio has been by my side the whole time but he has never been a good marker for time because he's already gray and really hasn't aged since his first year. I dread the day that I start to notice time by the little extra effort he'll make to get up in the mornings, by the kid that he'll let run by without barking or by the more leisurely pace to our walks. He's my little guy and I have been really lucky to have had him with me for all the changes, moves and new adventures that have come my way in the last five years. Where would I be without my Rio?
